"I was very fortunate to have access to the 9th treasure trove of Uncle Al's archive material. Hundreds of hours of footage, many of which had not been seen since their original broadcast, were digitized for this film," said Miosi. Featuring interviews with people who knew Al and Wanda Lewis well, his daughters and those who worked on the show, the film is a nostalgic journey back to the world that was 'The Uncle Al Show.'

"I was chosen to dress up at the party and play as a turkey (but) 4-year-old me was terrified when the other kids seemed intent on eating the turkey!" Combs said in one of nearly 300 tributes to Captain Windy on the Facebook page.
“Captain Windy understood my fear and helped me. Then, to make it up, I also got to ride in a 'helicopter' as a birthday guest, even though it wasn't my birthday. When we all left after the show, he gave me a marshmallow ice cream cone.
"My husband was at the show when he was little and he still has the pictures," said Johnny Carter. "My daughter was 3 when she was on the show and I have pictures."
Phyllis Strickland Hamilton said, "I took my 2 kids to the show in the early 60's. You still have the picture."

While Uncle Al received the highest salary, Captain Windy, with his bright, cheerful smile and charming personality, made many fans for life.
"My wife was at the show when she was about 4 years old and Captain Windy held her," said Mark Davis.
Captain Windy and Uncle Al, who died in 2009, were popular and influential to Tri-State children as Mr. Rogers and Sesame Street for generations to come.
"I went to the show in 1955. What a great children's show," said Janet Herzog. "Thanks for the memory."

"Thank you for all the good childhood memories! I loved your show when I was growing up," said Betty House. "It's a shame we don't have programs like this anymore."
"He was quiet. He didn't talk much, and that's how he got the name Captain Windy," said Paula Jane Waters. "They joked that he was so calm. He couldn't catch wind."
"I got my twin daughters on the show," Wayne Chaney recalls. He remembered the crowd of children with Captain Windy.
"The kids adored him," Waters said. "He made an impact not only on the show, but off camera as well."

Wanda Lewis brought a lot of talent when it first aired in 1949. He worked there till 1989.
"Wanda was an exceptionally gifted artist," said Jim Timmerman, former producer/director and program manager. "A lot of people might think of him as Uncle Al Lewis' assistant. He's not.
"She created many of the cartoons used on Channel 9 in the early days. Wanda also hosted, sang, danced and acted alongside Cincinnati television pioneers Paul Dixon, Len Gorian, Nick Clooney and others.
"Television was live in 1949, all the time. He helped keep the show going, even when behind-the-scenes problems caused difficulties, because he was cool.

Wanda and Al raised four daughters on their 200-acre farm in Hillsboro, Ohio. They had 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Reflecting on her work on the 1989 Special 9, Wanda said: "You work so hard, and you're so busy, that the years go by, and you don't realize how good life was until you stop and look back." , 'Gee, it was nice, it was good, wasn't it good?'
